Settings

Appearance

Choose a light or dark panel, turn tooltips on or off, and make the panel the width you like.

Choose a theme

  1. 1
Open Settings: choose the gear in the panel’s footer, or click inside the panel and press ⌥5 (Alt+5 on Windows).
  2. 2
Under Appearance, choose Light, Dark or System.

System is the default. It follows your computer’s light or dark setting. Both themes cover the whole panel.

Tooltips

Tooltips name the action buttons when you hover over them. They’re on by default. To hide them, turn off Show tooltips on action buttons in Settings › General.

Panel width

Drag the panel’s edge, the one next to the page, to change its width. In Chrome and Brave, you can make the side panel wider, but not narrower than it opens. In Firefox, you can make the sidebar wider or narrower.

Keyboard and screen readers

Everything in the panel works from the keyboard, and every button has a name that screen readers announce. We checked it by hand with VoiceOver, in Chrome and in Firefox.

For every key, see Keyboard shortcuts.
